Eliane Ambrose
Oil Artist

Eliane Ambrose is a native of France but has lived the majority of her life in the United States after marrying her husband Harry Ambrose, a Chief Warrant Officer II  in the US Army, in 1953.  She has six children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Eliane has a passion for expressing herself through her art.   She works strictly in the oil medium; in her words, “I want to master one medium and one medium only”.  Painting in a variety of styles from realistic to the style of the impressionists, still life to ‘in plain air’ and at times she turns to abstraction and allows the canvas to speak to her inner senses.

Eliane studied intensively under the tutelage of International Artist Dennis Blalock, Thurmont, Maryland.

Eliane has won numerous awards for her paintings with awarded exhibitions including the popular vote award at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown Maryland.  Eliane is a member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., The Valley Art Association of Hagerstown Maryland, The Greencastle Area Arts Council of Greencastle Pennsylvania, Franklin County Art Alliance and the Waynesboro Studio Club of Pennsylvania. Eliane is also an avid member of the all women’s’ art group, “Spectrum Seven”.

Her work is on permanent display in many galleries and private collections in Florida, California, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and in her native France. Some of her work is on permanent display at F&M Trust Bank of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
